Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2009, offering Bachelor of Engineering undergraduate programme.

The department has faculty members with specializations in Power Systems, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Control Engineering, and Embedded systems and some of them have a rich industry experience also. While the senior faculty members are PhD degree holders, others are actively pursuing research.

The department has set up Centre’s of Excellence and signed MoUs with industry leaders, thereby providing ample opportunities for faculty members and students to interact with industry experts. Students under the guidance of faculty members take-up project work to gain hands-on experience. Our students have won many laurels in various competitions conducted nationwide.

Most of our graduates are placed in reputed companies, and a few of them are pursuing higher studies in India and abroad. Our department facilitates interaction between alumni and students so that our students gain exposure to industry requirements and practices even while there are studying.

The department has well-equipped laboratories in Engineering Practices, Electron Devices and Circuits, Electrical Machines, Power Electronics and Drives, Power Systems, Control and Instrumentation, Analog and Digital Electronics, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, Embedded Systems, Electric Vehicle Design, Industrial Automation, and Control and Robotics.

Program-Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  • 1 Foundation of Electrical Engineering: Ability to understand the principles and working of electrical components, circuits, systems and control that are forming a part of power generation, transmission, distribution, utilization, conservation and energy saving. Students can assess the power management, auditing, crisis and energy saving aspects.
  • 2 Foundation of Mathematical Concepts: Ability to apply mathematical methodologies to solve problems related with electrical engineering using appropriate engineering tools and algorithms.
  • 3 Computing and Research Ability: Ability to use knowledge in various domains to identify research gaps and hence to provide solution which leads to new ideas and innovations.
